I spent the day on Saturday working at my wife’s store on Saturday. She was in Florida for the Galaxy Pageant so I was stuck in Michigan. I take my camera with me everywhere and figured this is another opportunity to take some pictures. Between customers I was able to get some shots around the store.
Everyone in Saginaw knows that A Girly Girl Boutique sells clothing but did you know that they offer Soy Candles also? Probably not. This picture was taken of a wall display with an Olympus E-3 with no flash.

Every wedding that I photograph has unique and interesting wedding cakes. I’m going to start posting some here. If I find out who made the cake I will post it, but in most cases I don’t know the cake designer.

This picture was taken at the Double Tree Inn in Bay City Michigan. Wedding photography was done by Image Artz.

I stumbled upon (not using stumbleupon) an interesting blog today. Not sure exactly how I got to it but 360mainstreet.com is a well written and very interesting blog. There are not many articles yet but the resumes of the contributors look impressive. This blog will be on my RSS feed and I look forward to good things from them!

It’s not very often that there is a Sunday wedding, but this past weekend there was one. Working for Image Artz Photography I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the Double Tree Inn in Bay City, MI. This was an outdoor wedding and the weather was perfect.

The Double Tree is right next to a beautiful park in Downtown Bay City and we were able to get some great pictures of the bride and groom.

I had a senior portrait session last week. This week has been so hectic I just got around to editing a few of the images.

This picture was taken in Old Saginaw City with some fresh graffiti that had not been completely defiled yet.
(side note) I really hate it when someone takes the time to create a great piece of street art and then some punk tagger ruins it.
Not all the pictures were done with graffiti in the background but I really liked this one. We did some in the studio, on the railroad tracks, at a loading dock and against a building that was built in the 20’s and had some great art features.
Live in the Saginaw, MI area and need quality senior pictures without spending a fortune? Look me up – http://defoe-photography.com

Met with Jason last night at the Crazyjack Industries location in Bridgeport, MI. I met the bike building crew and we snapped a few pictures. Are these guys crazy? Most of them are!

The bikes they build are great and I look forward to working with them more in the future.

The wife and I spent the weekend in Bay City working at the Dow River Roar. On Saturday Debra had the Michigan Galaxy Queens down at the river helping kids in the Kroger Kids Zone. I spent the weekend running around and snapping pictures.

Some picutres from the weekend can be seen at:

I’ll keep posting more as the time to edit permits. Images will also be posted on the River Roar website.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Jason from Crazy Jack’s Custom bike shop in Birch Run Michigan. This guy is motiviated and it will be interesting to watch what he does in the next few months. At this point I’m not able to give a lot of details but check out the videos at:

My wife has wanted the WII Fit ever since we got the WII. I was watching Fox News one day and they were talking about the EA Sports Active
and I was interested. So my wife had her birthday and I got the EA Sports Active
instead of the WII Fit.

I don’t have the Wii Balance Board
but read that you don’t need to to play the EA Active. Having said all this last night I tried the game/workout for the first time. I have to admin that it was enjoyable and it was a good workout. Being my first time I setup my person and selected the easy muscle toning workout. The workout took about 27 minutes even with the explinations. I worked up a mild sweat and could feel a mild muscle burn. The workout was not overly difficult or strenuous.
Being completely out of shape I could feel a little soreness this morning when I woke up. I highly recommend the EA Sports Active and soon I will be taking the 30 day challenge. There are a lot of features in this game that my wife and I haven’t even started to explore. I think this will help us get in shape and has a lot of options to keep you interested and motivated.
