WordPress Tweet This

With the recent updates to Google it is more obvious that Social Media play a very important part in anyone’s SEO strategy.  SEOMoz conducted a study a few months ago about a page with links vs a page with tweeted links.  The results concluded that the page that only had tweets out ranked the page that only had html links.

So is the old style link building dead?  I don’t think so . . . I think Google has just discounted it until they can find a way to stop link spamming.

So now the question is – how do I make it easy for people to tweet your content?  Most of the sites that I run are running the WordPress platform and I just found a great plugin – Tweet This.

I haven’t tried to use this for automatic tweeting of posts.  My focus is to use the plugin to add the “tweet this” link/image on my pages and hopefully people will find my content useful and click the button.

One nice thing about Tweet This is that it can be installed directly from the WordPress Admin | plugins page.

The setup is easy and works without any modifications.  Plus there is a nice selection of buttons to choose from.
